FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

Our check-in is at 2.00 p.m. but if you arrive earlier and the room is not yet ready you can relax by the pool.

Our check-out is 12.00 noon and a later check-out is possible subject to availability and a fee depending upon the time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

For direct bookings via our website we have free cancellation up to 43 days prior to arrival. A Non-refundable charge of USD 15.00 Administration Fee is charged at the time of booking and no further charge is made until 42 days prior to your arrival.

Hotel rates shown in USD or other currency are for information only and all payments are converted into Indonesian Rupiah at the exchange rate of the day.   Scans of all Credit Card transactions are emailed to you on the day.

The Cancellation Policy with all other Booking Agents differs and is provided to you at the time of booking.

INSURANCE

We advise all guests to have adequate Travel Insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.

HOW FAR ARE THE VILLAS TEJAKULA FROM THE AIRPORT

The 3 hour trip to or from the Airport is a very scenic drive and costs $US 65.00 one way.    If you are booking direct with us you can pre-book your arrival or departure Transfer online.   We send drivers who speak excellent English, have clean cars and good driving skills.   You are welcomed and assisted with your luggage and we also provide bottles of cold water and cold face towels to refresh you on the journey.

SECURITY AT THE VILLA

We have a Security Man who is at the Villa every night from 9.00 p.m. until 6.00 a.m.  His name is Ketut and although his English is not as good as our Day Staff, he has an engaging smile and will always do his best to assist you or phone for help if needed.

YOGA

You will see from the Information Book in your room that we can organise for a personalised or group class to be held at 7.30 a.m. in the morning, either in your Villa or on the beachfront sundeck.

MEALS

We have our own Restaurant, Warung Kelapa Tejakula in our beachfront gardens where Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are served.

Our complimentary Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 10.00 a.m. all freshly prepared. Do not forget to order the Balinese Breakfast (24 hours in advance) as this is a specialty enjoyed by many. Lunch is available from 12noon – 3.00 p.m. and Dinner from 6.00 – 9.00 p.m., with last orders taken at 8.15 p.m.

We specialise in the locally caught seafood and also offer a number of Balinese and European dishes along with a good selection of vegetarian options.

EATING OUT AND BALI BELLY

You can feel completely safe eating anything on your plate at The Villas Tejakula as any fruit or vegetable which may be eaten raw is washed in bottled water prior to being stored in our refrigerator.    When eating out a safe rule of thumb when trying a local Balinese Warung is to avoid eating anything that is raw – but be warned the Balinese like their food very spicy and so you will need to like that level of spice.   With other Restaurants you can usually choose your level of spice and if you wish to have salad, ask them first if it is washed in bottled water or not.

TOURS

We have a range of Tours and activities that you can choose from or spend some time with Budi or Wayan and they can help you customise one to suit your needs.  We have put together a selection in our Information Book and these can easily be arranged at short notice.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

We accept cash (USD, AUD or Rupiah).   We also accept Visa and Mastercard – all transactions are in Indonesian Rupiah and incur a 3% surcharge.

SPA TREATMENTS

We have our own Spa (Di Kubu Spa) located in the beachfront gardens in front of the Villas.  Iluh who runs the Spa is an experienced masseuse and will take excellent care of you.    If a couple wish to have a massage at the same time then we bring in another well-trained masseuse from the area.   Facials and a Lurlur scrub is also on the Menu.

DO WE HAVE MOSQUITO’S, ETC

We are lucky at The Villas Tejakula as we have a very low mosquito population and we also do fogging weekly to ensure that this will remain so.   There has been no Dengue Fever here in our village.

WI FI

We have complimentary WiFi throughout Villa Saraswati and we enjoy a consistently good reception, but this is Bali and there are days !!

MOBILE PHONES

We have a number of Nokia Mobile Phones with a local Sim card which we lend to guests (particularly solo travellers) and this offers you the ability to contact us here at The Villas Tejakula or after hours should the need arise.

LAUNDRY

We can organise for your Laundry to be done and there is a sheet of charges in the Information Book in your room.    There is an additional charge if you wish the garments to be returned the same day.

DRINKING WATER

We provide you with two complimentary bottles of water on arrival and thereafter we ask you to refill these either from the jug of bottled water in your room or from the larger water bottle in the kitchen. This is our way of doing our bit to minimise rubbish here in Bali.

When cleaning your teeth it is quite safe to wash your mouth with the tap water as this comes from our own well which has been tested by the Government and is excellent quality, but bottled water is provided for drinking.

SNORKELING & DIVING

With Angel Canyon and Tangga Reef just 20 metres from the shore directly in front of our Villas you can spend many hours seeing the beautiful coral reef and the abundance of fish.

If you do not have your own snorkelling equipment we have it for hire and if you wish to go deeper then we can arrange this for you at the excellent fully accredited Dive Centre next door.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY

Many guests enjoy walking to the local Pasar (Market) which runs daily from 4.30 – 8.00 a.m. and only 10 away.     There is also the Les Waterfall nearby which can be reached by car or a Scooter.

BEACH

Our beach is black sand and pebbles, but if you are looking for a half or full day spent on a lovely white sand beach then we can arrange a car and driver to take you – it is around  1 ½ hours from our Villas.

MOTOR SCOOTER HIRE

One of the best ways to travel and see Bali is by Scooter – so if you are confident then this will appeal to you.   Please ensure that you have an International Driver’s Licence before you come to Bali and then we can easily arrange the scooter hire for you.

SOLO TRAVELLERS

We have many solo travellers who choose to stay at The Villas Tejakula on Bali’s North Coast.   Our village of Penuktukan is a very safe location and you will find everyone very friendly and welcoming.   We offer all guests a mobile phone with a local sim card so that you can contact us at any time.

WHAT TO PACK

The climate in Bali is tropical and between 28-32 Celsius and life is very laid back and casual. You do not need a lot of clothes and make sure you leave room in your suitcase because you will want to buy things to take home with you. If you think you may want to go trekking then do not forget to bring some suitable footwear.

Do not forget swimwear, lightweight clothing, a hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, insect repellent and your own snorkelling equipment if you prefer it (we provide shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, hand wash, hair dryers and pool towels).

The dry season is generally from April through to end of November and the wet season from November until end of March. The temperatures are usually hotter on the coast and a little cooler in the mountains.

The power supply is 220 V and we provide adaptor plugs on request at The Villas Tejakula. The plug in Bali is the 2 pin (round) fitting.

TIPS & GRATUITIES

If you feel that our staff have taken good care of you during your stay then please feel free to leave a tip for them when settling your account. This is a tradition here in Bali and is always very well received by the staff. We ask that you do not give anything directly to a staff member as the tips are shared equally between all of them at the end of each month.

When out and about in Bali you will often see that a service fee is already included in your final account, but bear in mind that wages are very low in comparison to back home and so an additional gratuity is always appreciated.
